Risk Disclaimer
Last updated: 1 October 2026
Please read this disclaimer before relying on any content on aurionlabs.io or using any software we build.
1. We are a software company
Aurion Labs Ltd is a software development company. We design and build trading platforms, quantitative tools, algorithmic trading systems and related technology.
Aurion Labs is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) or any other financial regulator. We do not:
- provide investment, financial, tax or legal advice
- manage portfolios or make trading decisions on anyone's behalf
- provide trading signals or recommendations
- act as a broker or arrange deals in investments
- hold or handle client money or assets
2. Information and education only
Everything on this site, including research articles, interactive calculators such as the options payoff explorer, examples, charts and descriptions of trading systems, is for information and education only. It describes how software and markets work. It is not a personal recommendation and does not take account of your objectives, financial situation or needs.
Nothing on the site is an offer or solicitation to buy or sell any financial instrument or to adopt any trading strategy.
3. High risk of loss
Trading leveraged and derivative products, including contracts for difference (CFDs), foreign exchange (forex), futures and options, carries a high level of risk and is not suitable for everyone.
- Leverage magnifies losses as well as gains. You can lose money rapidly.
- Depending on the product and your provider, you may lose more than your initial deposit.
- A high proportion of retail investor accounts lose money when trading CFDs.
- Options can expire worthless, and selling options can expose you to large or unlimited losses.
- Markets can gap, liquidity can disappear and orders may not be filled at the expected price.
Only trade with money you can afford to lose, and make sure you understand how a product works before trading it.
4. Backtests and hypothetical results
Backtests, simulations, model outputs and other hypothetical results shown on this site or produced by our software have inherent limitations.
Hypothetical or simulated performance results have many inherent limitations. Unlike an actual performance record, simulated results do not represent actual trading. Because the trades have not been executed, the results may have under or over compensated for the impact, if any, of certain market factors, such as lack of liquidity. Simulated trading programmes in general are also subject to the fact that they are designed with the benefit of hindsight. No representation is being made that any account will or is likely to achieve profits or losses similar to those shown.
In addition:
- Hypothetical results do not reflect the financial risk of real trading. The ability to withstand losses, or to stick to a strategy despite losses, can materially affect real results.
- Backtests may not fully account for spreads, commissions, swaps, slippage, latency, data errors, broker execution rules or changes in market conditions.
- A strategy can be over-fitted to historical data and fail on new data.
- Past performance, whether real or simulated, is not a reliable indicator of future results.
5. No guarantee of performance
No software, algorithm, Expert Advisor, indicator or trading system we design, build or describe is guaranteed to be profitable or to perform as it did in testing. Software can contain defects, and it depends on third-party platforms, brokers, data feeds, networks and hosting, any of which can fail, change or behave unexpectedly.
Anyone running automated trading software remains responsible for monitoring it, setting appropriate risk limits and deciding whether to trade.
6. Clients are responsible for regulatory compliance
Where we build software for a client, the client is responsible for deciding how it is used and for ensuring that any product or service it operates, markets or distributes using that software complies with the laws and regulations that apply to it. This includes any requirement for authorisation, licensing, financial promotion rules and client disclosures in each jurisdiction where it operates. Our role is limited to the software services set out in the written agreement for the engagement.
7. Seek independent advice
If you are unsure whether a product, strategy or piece of software is right for you, seek advice from an independent financial adviser authorised by the FCA or the appropriate regulator in your country. You can check whether a firm is authorised on the FCA Register at register.fca.org.uk.
